13 Years After Leaving School For Basketball, Stephen Curry Goes Back To University, Earns Bachelor’s Degree

The 34 year old American basketball player named Stephen Curry has been reportedly bagging his Bachelor’s degree 13 years after he paused academic studies to focus on his career in the National Basketball Association (NBA).

The star basketball player who was supposed to earn his college diploma degree as of 2010 from North Carolina liberal arts college, had the plan shattered because he enrolled in NBA in 2009, and as such, he was unable to finish his college diploma.

However, fast forward to 2022, the young man has earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Davidson College, North Carolina, United States.

Upon achieving the milestone of bagging a bachelor degree, the 34-year-old star who now plays for Golden State Warriors shared the goodnews on his Instagram page with the caption;

“Class of 2010….aka 2022 but we got it done! Thanks to my whole village that helped me get across the finish line. Made the promise when I left and had to see it through,”

Also joining other netizens in celebrating the young man success was his wife and the school he attended.

Curry’s wife wrote “Proud would be an understatement! Congratulations my love. “YOU DID IT!”

Also congratulating Stephen, the management of Davidson College, North Carolina, United States through their official page on Twitter, tweeted thus;

“Stephen Curry has on many occasions emphasized the importance of education, how much he valued his Davidson College experience and that he is committed to earning his degree. He needed to complete one semester of classwork.”

“He re-enrolled at Davidson College for the spring semester and worked with: two members of the Davidson faculty, a Stanford University professor and a UC Santa Cruz professor who taught Stephen when both were at Davidson.”

“He will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in Sociology, with the class of 2022 on Sunday but will not attend Commencement. Davidson College looks forward to an opportunity on campus in the future when we can present his diploma,” – They Wrote
