17-Year-Old Brilliant Girl Gains Admission To 18 Universities At The Same Time And Wins Scholarship Worth $1m

Shanya Robinson-Owens is a 17-year-old girl from Pennsylvania, USA was awarded a scholarship worth over $1 million after receiving admission offers from about 18 top universities in the United States.

She (Shanya) applied to over 25 universities in the US with her excellent performance at the George Washington Carver High School. She got an outstanding GPA of 3.2 in High School which made her one of the brilliant students in the country.

She expressed her shock on seeing the number of acceptance from top universities which are backed with scholarships worth around $1,074,260. In her words, she told GMA “I was pretty excited. I wasn’t really expecting it.”

Her aunt, Christine Owens also expressed her shock over her niece winning scholarships worth over $1m adding the she had always been an outstanding student who had good grades.

She said “We are overjoyed. I knew she wouldn’t have a problem getting into colleges but we didn’t know they would award her this much money in scholarship funds.”

Shanya said that she didn’t know how to react when she saw the amount of scholarships she was awarded. She said “I was really shocked. I didn’t know what to do. I didn’t know if I could cry, laugh, I didn’t know what to do.”
