Bauchi State Notice On Admission Into SS1 From Private To Public Schools In The State

We have noticed that few parents of children in private schools know that they can apply into SS1 in our public schools with their BECE result. The application is addressed to the Commissioner, Ministry of Education, Bauchi.

Admissions will be based on the BECE result of the child, his location and availability of space. Please do not forget to mention the location of the child’s home. It will guide us to place him appropriately. If possible suggest the day secondary school closest to home. Some schools like Saadu Zungur, Bakari Dukku, Ibrahim Bako are full already. Avoid them.

We have opened two new day schools at BSADP and Tambari Housing Estate Model Secondary Schools. (Jibril Aminu Model Secondary School will be relieved of the pressure from products of the two schools.) The two are under Special Schools Management Board but the admission this year is given by the Ministry. A student will need some good grades to be there. We have started posting some there already.

Then applications can also be made for the new day senior secondary schools in the following towns that will temporarily use boarding school classrooms closest to them.

Applicants can know the fate of their applications at the Exams office few days after submitting the I application. Once successful, the admission letter will be downloaded by the applicant from our BECE portal.

This oversight will not occur in the next BECE. A provision will be made on the exams registration form for private schools candidates to indicate their interest for admission into public schools such that it will be considered ab initio. Forgive us. We are always learning.

Thank you.

Dr. Aliyu I. Tilde
Commissioner
Ministry of Education
Bauchi.
