man earns PhD in Mathematics and Statistics from a Canadian university

A brilliant young African man identified as Eugene Opoku, a native of Ghana has made the continent proud by bagging an exceptional PhD degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the prestigious University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

He was celebrated through a linkedin post by his university supervisor, Professor Ejaz Ahmed, who described him as a talented student and also his first African product as a Lecturer.

Prof. Ahmed wrote on Linkedin “I’m pleased to announce that my 20th PhD student who I have supervised has graduated. He is also my first student from the continent of Africa and has earned his PhD. in Statistics,”

The young man started his tertiary education at the University of Ghana where he graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Statistics. He further obtained his Master’s degree in statistics from Brock University, Ontario, Canada.

Today, he is a PhD degree holder from the prestigious University of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
