Brilliant Lady Wrote Her Final Year Exam While Being Pregnant, Bags First Class And Becomes Best Student Of The University

Meet Colette Offiong Bassey, a Nigerian lady who has broken a 44-year old record of the University of Calabar, Nigeria. She became the first-ever first class graduate of the Department of Linguistics and Communications Studies.
Colette was heavily pregnant while she was taking her final year examination. She said that she sat for an examination on Wednesday and gave birth to a baby boy the next Saturday.
In a statement by the university, it was confirmed that she was the first person in the history of the institution to bag a first-class degree from the Department of Linguistics and Communications Studies.
“Bassey Colette Offiong emerged as the only first-class student from linguistics and Nigerian Languages in the 2018/2019 session and the first ever in the history of the department dated back to 1977.”
Colette expressed thanks to God and also to her husband who pushed her hard and supported her.
She her post on Instagram, she wrote “To God be the glory. I remember finishing exams on a certain Wednesday and giving birth that Saturday. It was one her of a ride but it ended in praise.”
