COVID-19: We’ll opens schools only when it’s safe – Kaduna Govt

Kaduna State Government said, it is still assessing the COVID-19 pandemic with keen interest and will announce the opening of school only when it deems it safe for students to resume.

The State Commissioner of Education, Dr. Shehu Usman Muhammad, told The Nation that, safety of students and teachers is very important to the state government.

According to him, “like I told you earlier, the State Government will review the state of Covid-19 cases before fixing date for resumption.

We are still assessing the COVID-19 pandemic with keen interest and will issue a statement when the government deems fit and safe for students to resume.

“So, we are yet to fix date for resumption of schools. If we observe that, the figures of the Covid-19 cases are coming down, certainly we will be eager to open schools, but if the figures continue to rise, certainly we will not be in haste to open schools,” he said.
