Covid19: Kano State Govt Reopens Football Viewing Centres

Governor Abdulahi Ganduje, the givernor of Kano state has directed the reopening of all viewing centres in the state.

The Kano state governor gave the directive when the leadership of the Soccer Viewing Centres Association, Kano State chapter paid him a courtesy call at the Government House in Kano on Friday.

The Punch reports that The governor appealed to association to ensure strict adherence to all protocols enunciated by health workers in order to curtail the spread of the disease in the state.

The state governor also donated 40,000 face masks to the association for distribution at various viewing centres to strengthen observance of the laid down protocols to curb the spread of the corona virus infection.

The governor while speaking with members of the association is quoted as saying;

“It is in line with our decision to see that our economy bounces back, in the state that I directed all viewing centres to reopen,” he said.

Ganduje reminded them that, as they gather youth in their viewing centres, they must create awareness among them on how to prevent the spread of the pandemic.
The Kano chairman of the association, Sharu Ahlan, assured the governor that protocols of the virus would be strictly adhered to by owners of viewing centres in the state.

Recall that some football leagues, including the German Bundesliga, Laliga, the EPL and the Italian Serie A announced a return to action after months of non action because of the Corona virus pandemic.
