Curtis University scholarships are in progress and currently awarding scholarships for the 2022-2023 session. There are over three hundred scholarships available to deserving students.

The current scholarship selection process opens on the 3rd of April. Entrants will need to send in one or two sample essays or two portfolios as they can see fit. Each entry will also need to include the student’s full name as it appears on their identity cards or passports, his or her qualifications and relevant academic history, as well as a photograph of the student.

Extracurricular Activities 

The Curtis University Campus is also home to several cultural and social organizations ranging from a Student Government Association to an ethnic Greek organization.

Places

There are a lot of nice places to visit and enjoy such as the “Alamo” a 3-story tall statue of the famous Alamo General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna who gave his name to this historic place. There are also two museums, one inside the campus building, and another one in San Antonio, People can visit them whenever they want.

Every year on Thanksgiving day Curtis hosts the “Pumpkin Pie Festival” It is a very popular event with its new yearly tradition. It includes many games, rides, and activities. The Curtis campus is also a popular location for concerts and musical events, most of which are free to the public.

Campuses

Students can take classes on campus at Curtis University in Arimo, Idaho, or online through Early College High School. Curtis also has multiple articulation agreements with colleges and universities across the country.

Curtis has campuses located in three states: Idaho, Wyoming, and Texas (San Antonio). The university owns teaching facilities in New York state where students may study abroad for a semester before returning to their home campus for the second semester of their senior year.

Entry Criteria

Essay

The sample essays or a portfolio is a minimum of 500 words (however, entrants may wish to write more, if they wish). Essays may be up to 3500 words. It should be noted that the current sponsor of this scholarship is Curtis University.

Each entry will need to be submitted electronically, together with ten passport photographs. Entrants need to tell Curtis University in which sector of the country they wish to work. Other than that, entrants are free to choose.

Scholarship Coverage

Also, they are advised that Curtis University will provide them with full accommodation and funding (and the rest of their education) such that they can put into practice their proposed work.

Entrants are advised that Curtis University reserves the right to constitute a tribunal to adjudicate. The tribunal will be comprised solely of Curtis University representatives and will be presided over by the Governor of Curtis University, whose decision is final and binding.

1. Provide proof of English proficiency by submitting scores from one of the following:

TOEFL (Test of English as Foreign Language) with a score of 79 or higher; OR – IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with a score on 6.0 or higher; OR – Pearson Test of English Academic (“PTE” or “PTEA”) with an overall score in 64 or higher; OR – Cambridge Proficiency Certificate obtained from Cambridge ESOL Examination Board

2. Submit proof that you are not ineligible for admission to any state’s public education system

3. Submit transcripts from all colleges and universities attended.

4. Submit a minimum 3.0 GPA on your academic record as of the admission date.

5 Transcripts must be submitted in either paper or electronic format and if submitted electronically, they must be in a password-protected file that is accepted by the University’s webmail system (GW).

5. Submit proof of proficiency in English language arts and mathematics through one of the following: TOEFL, IELTS, PTE, or PSAT/NMSQT with a minimum score of 79; OR Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) with an overall score of 63 or higher; OR ACT with a minimum score of 19

Undergraduate Scholarships for International Students

The following is a list of undergraduate scholarships awarded by Curtis University.

Curtis University Scholarships offers several undergraduate scholarships to qualified students. Current Curtis faculty and staff members, as well as alumni, may nominate a student for the Chancellor’s Scholarship Award.

The award is granted to two sophomores each year and provides full tuition for four years of undergraduate study at Curtis College. Qualified students may also apply for the following awards:

  • Alfred Bristow Scholarship in honor of Mr. Bristow’s service to Curtis in the 1940s.
  • Curtis Award, honoring outstanding achievement in Curtis College activities.
  • Deborah Green Memorial Scholarship, honoring the memory of Ms. Green by a student who is an Amarillo community member with demonstrated financial need and an interest in nursing.
  • John Illingworth Award for outstanding achievement in Curtis College activities conducted by males who have been awarded this award for at least two years of undergraduate study at Curtis College.
  • Linda Nelson Scholarship honors Ms. Nelson to support students studying English and English literature or journalism courses who are majoring in education at the university or wish to become teachers of English and English literature after completing their undergraduate work.
  • The President’s Scholarship for outstanding achievement in Curtis college activities conducted by males who have been awarded this award for at least two years of undergraduate study at Curtis College.
  • The University of Texas at San Antonio Scholarships, are to be awarded to students majoring in Education.
  • United Methodist Campaign Ministry Scholarships, to be awarded to students majoring in Music.
  • Virginia L. Barker Scholarship, granted based on academic merit and demonstrated financial need.
  • Maya Bonilla Memorial Award, to a senior who has completed his or her freshman year of college
  • Dean Price Scholarship, granted based on academic merit and demonstrated financial need.

The university is currently awarding the following list of scholarships to graduating high school seniors with good academic standing, a minimum 3.0 GPA, and active involvement in their community.
