ALHAMDULILLAH! , I am beyond excited and super thrilled to share with my family, friends and networks that I’ve been chosen for the British Chevening Scholarship to pursue a master’s degree in Public Health and Health Promotion at one of the prestigious and highly ranked universities in the world, the Brunel University, London, England, United Kingdom.
“Nigeria has a huge population of people with disabilities and the number keeps increasing and frankly speaking, there’s need for more Disability-inclusiveness in the Nigeria’s health policy, planning and implementation initiatives.
“Nigeria’s health sector needs to be more Disability-inclusive. Being a physically disabled person, I feel a strong sense of personal responsibility to play a vital role in making Nigeria a better place for all, including people with disabilities.
“This is one of the sources of inspiration to further my education to postgraduate level in the area of Public Health o acquire the skillset/knowledge that will help me to hugely participate in developing sustainable and diability inclusive health practices in Nigeria.
“It’s a huge privilege and an honour to be among the 2% selected from 58,000 applicants, worldwide. I am immensely grateful to the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, and UKinNigeria for this exceptional opportunity.
“Also, I don’t see my selection as the product of my dedication and commitment alone, I view it as the product of self-motivation, persistence, perseverance, sacrifice from my mentors, prayers and an act of blessing from Allah, the merciful.
“I am grateful ya Allah. I deeply appreciate my mentors for their guidance and mentorship throughout the journey. Thank you, Israel Adekunle Balogun , you’ve been of great help in every step of the way. To Dr.Babajide Milton Macaulay, Ph.D. and everyone who have supported in one way or the other, I’m grateful.
