Federal Universities In Nigeria and Their Jamb Cut Off Mark For The 2022/2023 Session

The massive failure of the JAMB UTME  result in the year 2021 has highly affected the standards for JAMB.

JAMB is also known as Joint Admission Matriculation Board. The Joint Admission Matriculation Board is a body in Nigeria that conducts a compulsory examination for students aiming to broaden their knowledge and gain admission the higher university.

Getting into a university, especially a federal university without taking the JAMB examination i.e Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination is like building a castle in the air. Maybe it might be possible someday, but it is quite impossible now.

UTME was designed to help and test the critical thinking of students to know if they are qualified to continue the journey into the university. The exam was commenced in Nigeria in the year 1970s to filter out students who are not critical enough in their thinking after all, unlike other examinations, cheating is quite difficult if not impossible.

This computer-based examination has also been a great method to select the best of the best.

There is a standard or rather, a particular average mark a student must have in his or her Jamb exam before he or she can gain admission to any higher academic tertiary institution in Nigeria e.g. college of education, polytechnic as well university. 

Although each course of study has a particular cut-off mark for you to be able to study the course, you must also have no less than a particular score the Jamb has laid down. The score varies each year and the factor for determining the score dependently lies on the result of the previous year.

The result of the 2021 Jamb was low and not satisfactory hence, the cut-off mark for 2022 has been reduced. The cut-off mark happening currently being released as the examination is around the corner hence  the Joint admission matriculation board is trying its possible best to prepare the students minds and beforehand so they would know how to work hard and prepare for the examination.

1.Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike Ikwo (AE FUNAI)

The institution has announced its cut-off mark for the 2022/2023 session which is 180 i.e for you to be able to begin your admission into the institution, you must score at least 180 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination(UTME).

2. The Federal Univerisity of Akure(FUTA)

Feral University of Nigeria is a federal institution located in Akure, the capital of Ondo State that was established in 1981. The University’s cut-off mark for the institution in the 2022/2023 session is 180 i.e the minimum Jamb score you must have to be able to secure a chance of admission in the prestigious university is 180. It would however be in your favor if you can you score higher as you have a higher chance if gaining an admission. Also, note that other factors that contributes to your admission is your success in your Post UTME and the department of your choice cut-off mark.

3.Federal University, Oye Ekiti(FUOYE)

Federal University, Oye Ekiti,also known as FUOYE is a federal institution located in Oye Ekiti, Ekiti State. It was established in 2011 and the cut off mark is 180.

4. Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA)

Federal University of Technology, Minna also referred to as FUTMINNA located in Nigeria was established in 1982.  The cut-off mark for the 2022 2023 session is 180.

5.Federal University, Lafia, Nasarawa State(FULAFIA)

Federal University Lafia is located in Lafia, Nasarawa State. It was also established in 2011. The Jamb UTME cut-off mark is also 180.

6.Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State(FULokoja)

Federal University, Lokoji, better known as FULokoja, is a federal institution located in Lokoja, Kogi State. The institution was established in 2011 and the cut-off mark for Jamb UTME is 180.

7.Micheal Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU).

Micheal Okapara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOU AU) has been in existence dating back to its creation in 1992. The Jamb UTME cut-off mark is 180.

8.Nnamdi Azikiwe University

Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Akwa (UNIZIK)  is one of the most prestigious and renowned universities in Nigeria that was created in 1992. The Jamb UTME cut off mark is 180

9.Obafemi Awolowo University OAU, Ile Ife

Although it is a little difficult to gain admission there, getting admission to OAU by worth it. The university is one of the ancient universities we have in Nigeria. Due to the high rate of competition, the Jamb UTME cut off mark is 200.

10.The University of Abuja, Gwagwalada

11.Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta

12.University of Ibadan

14.Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa

Federal University, Dutse, Jigawa also known as FUD, Jigawa was founded in 2011. That-off mark for the Jamb UTME for the 2022/2023 session is 180.

15.Federal Univerity, Otuoke

Federal University, Otuoke(FUOtuoke) is located in Bayelsa state. The institution was founded in the year 2011. The cut of mark for the 2022/2023 session is 180.

16. Federal University, Wukari, Taraba

Federal University, Wukari is located in Taraba state and was established in 2011. Like other institutions, the cut-off mark for the 2022 2023 session is 180.

17.Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola

Modibbo Adam University of Technology, MAUTECH, formerly FUTYOLA, was established in 1981. That-off mark for the 2022 2023 session is 180.

18.Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun

Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun was established in 2007. The cut-off mark for the 2022 2023 acad3mic session is 180.
