The Federal Government has inaugurated the campaign to support the girl-child education in Nigeria.
The government said the campaign was to support the distribution of educational and hygiene materials to disadvantaged girls.
The Minister of Women Affairs, Pauline Tallen, who was represented by the Director (Child Development), Jummai Mohammed, said this during the closeout of its Educating Nigerian Girls in New Enterprises II project and commemoration of the international day of the girl child.
Mohammed said, “The Ministry of Women Affairs is doing a lot in the area of girl child education. The Minister has flagged off the campaign for supporting the girl child education in Nigeria.
“The campaign is to support the distribution of educational and hygiene materials to disadvantaged girls. The inability of some girls to have these items has made them drop out of school.
