Nigeria Afro beat sensation, Artiste and songwriter Adedamola Adefolahan, popularly known as Fireboy DML shared what his father did to him after he dropped out of school to chase his music career.
In an interview with Twitter influencer, Zeze Millz, the 26 year old artiste, revealed that his father gave him an ultimatum to make it in music in two years.
The Peru crooner stated, his father made sure he signed an undertaking to continue to respect him even after he had made it in life.
The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) final year dropout, said that when he was in Ogun State, Nigeria, he became a studio rat, so that he could learn everything he needed to know about song writing.
When he finally got a hang of it, he had to move to Lagos to pursue his career and make his father proud.
Fast Forward to today, He has made hit songs and has featured several foreign music sensations in his career.
In 2020, Fireboy’s “Champion” was used by FC Bayern Munich for their UEFA Super Cup celebrations.
His song “Scatter” was also included in the FIFA 21 game soundtrack.
From being a studio rat to an international superstar, fireboy is no doubt an inspiration to many young people out ther.
