Program Description
The Georgetown University Global Human Development Programme is set as a two-year full-time master’s degree that covers an innovative skills-based curriculum with already built-in opportunities for your experiential learning. The curriculum will accommodate core courses including the economics of development, the international political economy, program design & implementation, monitoring & evaluation theme, quantitative methodologies and qualitative methodologies, finance & budgeting, plus management.
In this program, full tuition scholarship will be awarded to a GHD student from sub-Saharan Africa. Asides curriculum, students are taught to apply the skills and knowledge they are learning in their classes to 3 different professional work experiences, the summer field project (to be fully-funded for 2-3 month international work placement) and you will get an internship offer at a related Washington DC- based international development organization/ agency for not less than one academic semester; including the capstone project (a 2 semester client engagement project with focus on project management & analysis).
GHD is a practitioner-focused course so usually up to one year of experience working in international development is usually required, with not less than two years of professional experience preferred.
