The Gombe State Commissioner for Higher Education, Hon. Lauco Meshack, has said the state government has set up a white paper committee to examine the relevance of tertiary institutions in the state.
Meshack said this while answering questions on the activities of the Prof. Buba Bajoga committee on Tertiary education in the state during an Independence Day media parley.
Meshack said the Bajoga’s committee had made its recommendations, adding that the stage of action was on the outcome of the white paper.
He said, “The Bajoga committee has submitted its report and government has accepted the report but as it is with all reports submitted to the government, a white paper committee has been set up to look at the report and come up with a white paper which will be implemented by the ministry of higher education.”
Bajoga added that out of the six tertiary institutions in the state, only two were enlisted on TETFUND.
