NECO is an examination body in Nigeria that conducts the [Elderly Secondary Certificate Examination] and the [General Certificate in Education in (June/ July and November/ December) independently].
It was created by former Head of State [Abdulsalami Abubakar] in April in the year (1999). And it was the first Federal association to offer subsidized enrollment to academic campaigners in Nigeria.
NECO was commanded to take over the liabilities of the National Board of Education Measurement -NBEM in which its demoiselle examination took place in (mid-2000).
About The NECO Administration
When it was headed by Abubakar. Gana, appointed by the President under section 9 of its establishment Act. And it has six departments, each headed by a director. Each Department has divisions, composed of units. Aslo, a platoon of directors and a register are the governing body, which is headed by president Abubakar Mohammed.
Nigeria offers six times of introductory education, three times of inferior secondary education, three times of elderly secondary education, and four times of tertiary education. But the Mathematics and English language are mandatory though Mathematics may not be needed for some courses in advanced institutions.
Basic Education Certificate Examination- BECE is the main examination to qualify scholars for admission into secondary and vocational seminaries in Ghana and Nigeria. And it’s written after three years of inferior high academy education.
The National Common Entrance Examination is administered to pupils in their 6th time of introductory education for admission into Federal Unity Colleges. Two examinations are held annually.
