Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) Suspends Two Srudents For Allegedly Defrauding Students of their School Fees and Issuing Fake Receipts

The Management of the Ignatius Ajuru University of Education says it has suspended two students from studies till further notice.

The duo: Bekwele Godspower Ogbonda (Dept of Accounting, Level 400 – UE/2016/ACCT/B.ED4/0100) and Rowland C. Newton Charles (Dept of Accounting, Level 200 – UE/2018/ACCT/B.ED4/0485) were said to have allegedly defrauded their fellow students of their school fees and issued them with fake bursary receipts.

A statement personally issued by the institution’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ozo-Mekuri Ndimele listed some of the alleged victims and sums reportedly collected from them by the suspended students.

“Ogbonda Wisdom Manuchim – N67,600, Abiye Patience – N64,600, Wozume Better Chile – N64,600, Jaja Vincent Accrah – N64,600, Emmanuel Utibe Johnson – N74,600, Jaja Victor Ebere – N65,600, Budede Victor – N74,600, Udofia Godsfavour M. – N74,600 and Worgu Destiny. – N74,600,” the VC disclosed.

Ndimele in the statement said the matter has been referred to the school’s Students Disciplinary Committee for further investigation and If they are found guilty, the rules and regulations of the University will apply accordingly.
