KAIST or fully known as Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology is a research based graduate school that focuses on the sciences and technological advancements. Founded in 1971, KAIST is located in Seoul, South Korea; having three campuses at Seoul, Munji and its main campus. It comprises of sic schools, five colleges and 29 departments that teach their students the Art and utilization of advanced facilities.
About International Studentship
Having Asia’s 4th largest economy, South Korea is a standing member of the World Trade Organization since 1995. KAIST’s exposure is well spread in Literacy, mathematics, education and sciences which makes the college fee quite expensive, leaving International student the option of applying for Scholarship. The number of International students at 1,027 was dated back in 2019 which included 358 masters’ students and 213 PhD students. These students were from the Asian and Oceania nations, nurturing diverse cultures and welcoming international bodies to empower them with scholarship programs with about 80 percent taught in English Language.
Offering programs that allows students learn important information, KAIST organize orientation programs for International students to fully prepare themselves for the life in Korea. These programs like the Student Club Presentation, KAIST campus tour, Buddy Programs and many other are incorporated into the school schedule. International students also have access to facilities like the sport centers, health insurance, medical facilities, dormitory and cultural facilities.
International students are also granted student support, opening them to the KAIST International house, a place where students unwind with events, seminars, programs and language support. KAIST also provides the KAIST counseling center, stress clinic. Students’ organizations and clubs and the KAIST International Students Association for easy participation. International students are also encouraged to join the International community on facebook from various countries like Ethiopia, India and Latin American students and researchers Associations.
Application fee
Application fee for both Graduate and Undergraduate International students is $80 or KRW 80,000. It has no waiver program and the form cannot be changed once paid.

Applicants need to acquire a high school diploma and have foreign citizenship
Transcripts and other documents like passport, passport photograph, a recommendation letter, English proficiency test score and financial resources.

Scholarship for International Students
International students are given full scholarship of four years or eight semesters for the tuition fee and an allowance of KRW 350,000 (300 USD) per month for first year and an amount of KRW 200,000 (175 USD) per month for second year. This also comes with a health insurance.

Graduate Scholarship
The korea advanced Institute of Technology is offering a graduate program to support international students as Masters and PhD degree level at the institute. The scholarship is fully funded and provides full tuition fee waiver, living expenses and medical insurance plus research apprenticeship.

- Choose your financial resources resource
- A payment of $80 or KRW 80,000 can be made by credit card or local bank transfer
- Upload the necessary document copies such as High school profile, high school transcript, English proficiency test report, Official test score report, passport or national ID, statement of financial resources, honors and awards (optional),
- Submit after review
The scholarship covers some expenses, excluding some like Airfare, Korean language Course. In accordance to the Government policy, duplicating payment is prohibited. Undergraduate scholarships are provided until graduation provides the student maintains a certain level of grade.
