New Zealand Government Scholarship- The New Zealand Government is currently taking applications for their 2022 scholarships and will be awarding over 500 scholarships to under-represented groups.

According to the New Zealand Government’s website, these are people from a low socio-economic background; Maori, who have been living in a region with a higher unemployment rate than the national average for at least five years; Pasifika people who have been living in a region with a higher unemployment rate than the national average for at least five years; and disabled persons.

The New Zealand Scholarship Committee i.e. the New Zealand Government offers scholarships to students who wish to study in New Zealand for a maximum period of 10 months or two semesters or two years at University Colleges in New Zealand. They are open to applicants from all South Asian countries. They offer different categories of scholarships. Students are eligible to obtain this scholarship if they fulfill the following conditions:

  • They must have a first degree in any discipline from any university
  • They must have completed their first year of postgraduate studies in their country of origin
  • They must have completed 26 months after graduation (which shall be considered complete if they fulfill the above conditions).

If an applicant is offered a scholarship at more than one institution they still have the option to accept more than one offer. If a scholarship offer has not been received by the end of April each year we will assume that you do not wish to receive a scholarship award, returning you your full application fee.
