Jamb UTME is a compulsory examination for any student aspiring to study in any institution in Nigeria, especially federal and state institutions among others.
When a student wants to register for the UTME examination, he or she will be given a Jamb form where he or she will have to fill in the necessary information about their choice of institution.
In this form, you will be asked to pick three various choices of institutions which are preferable, a federal or state institution, a private institution as well as a polytechnic in Nigeria.
The second institution chosen by the student is the second choice institution. Some institutions, especially federal universities do not accept students who made them second choices.

1. Crescent University
Crescent University is a private institution that was created by the Islamic Mission for Africa in Abeokuta, Ogun State in the year 2005.
The institution has five Colleges viz College of Art, Social and management sciences, College of Information and Communication Technology, Bola Ajibola College of Law, College of Natural and applied sciences, and College of environmental sciences. It commenced academic activities in the year 2005.
2. Wesley University Of Science and Technology, Ondo
Wesley University of Science and Technology, Ondo (WUSTO) now known as Wesley University is a private university that is located in Ondo, Ondo State which was established in 2007 by the Methodist Church, Nigeria.
On the 17th of May, the institution was granted a license by the NUC, a commissioning body for institutions in Nigeria.
3. Achievers University, Owo
Achievers University is a private institution located in Owo, Ondo State that was established in the year 2007. Achievers University is owned by Hon. Bode Ayorinde.
The institution however began its academic operation in 2008. Achievers University, Owo(AUO) currently has five colleges namely College of Natural and Applied Sciences (CONAS), College of Social and Management Sciences (COSMAS), College of Engineering and Technology(COET), College of Law(COL) as well as the newfound college; College of Basic health sciences(COBHS).
4. Admiralty University
The Admiralty University of Nigeria is a private institution located in Ibusa, Delta state. The Admiralty University of Nigeria popularly known as ADUN was founded in 2007.
The institution has four colleges viz College of Arts and Humanities, College of Business and social sciences, College of language and cultural sciences as well as college of science and technology.
5. Westland University
Westland University is a private institution that was created in 1984 by Engineer Wole Adepoju in Iwo, Osun State.
At inception, it was established to be a technical institute; Carspring technical institute, and in the year 2019. The institution has three colleges viz: Faculty of Social and management sciences, Faculty of mass and media/ library and information science as well as Faculty of Basic science and computing.
6. University of Mkar
University of Mkar formerly known as Hilltop University is a private Christian institution that was founded in the year 2005 by the Church of Christ in Sudan.
The University of Mkar is located in Benue State.
7. Anchor University, Lagos
Anchor University is a private institution that was founded in the year 2014 in Lagos. The university currently has four colleges viz College of Arts and Humanities, College of Language and Cultural Sciences, College of Business and social sciences as well as College of Science and Technology.
8. Atiba University
Atiba University is a private institution that was brought into existence in 2017 making it five years of existence. Atiba University is located in Oyo. It is rated as the 1l7th University in Nigeria and the 11314th university in the world.
9. Baze University
Baze University is a private institution that was created in 2011 by Senator Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed. Baze University has been rated as the third-best private university in Nigeria.
Baze University is located in Abuja and has six faculties viz Faculty of Law, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Computing and applied science, Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, and Faculty of Medical Sciences with a total of 43 courses within them.

Veritas University is a private university that was founded in the year 2002 in Abuja by the Catholic Church. The institution was officially recognized by NUC in 2007 hence it began academic activities in 2008.
11. Michael and Cecilia Ibru University of Technology
Michael and Cecilia Ibru University of Technology is a private university owned by Michael Ibru and Cecilia Ibru. It was founded in 2005 and is located in Delta state.
The university has five colleges viz college of Natural and applied sciences, college of social and management sciences, college of law, college of arts and humanities as well as college of computing.
12. Tai Solarin College of Education(TASUED)
TASUED is a state university that was founded in the year 2005 and is situated in Ijagun, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. For undergraduate degrees, there are five colleges namely the College of specialized and professional education (COSPED), and the College of Humanities (COHUM). College of social and management sciences (COSMAS), College of Vocational and technology education (COVETED), and college of science and information technology (COSIT).
The institution was named after the human activist; Tai Solarin.
13. Abia State University
Abia state university is a state university that is located in Abia, Imo State, and was established as early as 1961 although it was named Imo State university at that time.
Later on, the name was changed to Abia State University. Abia State University has 9 colleges for undergraduate degrees namely the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Services, College of Business Administration, College of Biological and Physical sciences, College of Engineering and Environmental Services, College of Law, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, College of Humanities and Social sciences, College of Optometry as well as College of Education.
Abia State University also has a postgraduate college; the College of Postgraduate Studies for Postgraduate students.

However, it is best if you are determined about the institution you want to attend, make research about the course you want to go for in that school and work very hard to meet up with their cut off marks so you do not have to go through any hurdle as some of these institutions might require you getting a change of institution form.
