This is to announce to the general public that the Nigerian Military School has started it registration for the 2022/2023 session and so interested candidates are expected to start applying online.
The portal opened on March 1, 2022 and the registration is for Nigeria males only who must be at least 12 years old at the time of entry. The candidates are expected to fill and submit their form online before the closing date.
So if you have a child or a ward and you wish to enroll him in the Nigerian Military School, then you should hurry and start up with the registration as the portal will be closing on May 6, 2022.
About Nigerian Military School (NMS)
The Nigerian Military School (NMS) was founded in 1954 as the Boys-Company of Nigeria and it was established under the auspices of the Nigerian Regiment Training center of the Royal West African Frontier Force.
The NMS is organized into Headquarters (HQ NMS), Education Wing, Military Wing, Boys Battalion and Administrative Company.
The Education Wing has the huge responsibility of providing the Boys with Academic training like other secondary schools and the students sit for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) before graduation.
The Military Wing was established at the time the school was founded and this wing is responsible for planning, programming and implementation of all military and physical training packages. These training activities helps the Boys learn the required military skills and physical fitness to become soldiers.
NMS students have the privilege to earn a commission into the Nigeria Army as private soldiers after completing their training and academic program.
Requirements For Admission Into NMS
To be eligible for admission into the Nigerian Military School, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- They must be between the ages of 12-14 years
- They must be male
- They must be medically and physically fit
- They must have good moral character
- They are to report to the examination centre with the original copy of their application form, exam photo card and payment advice as generated from the portal.
- Candidates must get to the examination centre of their choice not later than 7:00am on the day of the examination.
- Candidates must sit for the examination at the centre they selected.
- Candidates invited for selection interview will be made to undergo compressive physical and medical examinations.
- Candidates invited for selection interview will be required to come with original copies of Birth Certificate, Local Government Certificate of Origin and Exam Photo card.
How To Apply For Admission Into The Nigerian Military School
Candidates that are sure they meet the requirements to gain admission into the Nigerian Military School can apply using the following steps:
- Visit https://www.nms1954.sch.ng/
- If you have already created your sign-up profile, login by clicking the Green Tab.
- If you it is your first time of visiting the portal, create your sign-up profile by clicking the Blue Tab. Follow these steps below to create your sign-up profile:
- Read the instructions carefully and then click the start button
- Fill in the candidate’s personal information and click “Next”
- Fill in candidate’s contact details and click next
- Fill in other details and click next
- Click “Generate Form” to see the candidate’s form.
- The application form will be displayed and also the payment requirements
- Submit the application form after the payment made has been confirmed
- Application form fees for this year is N3,000 only bank charges inclusive
- The application form fees are non-refundable
- Click “Pay Now” to make the payment as it take you to Interswitch WebPay platform
- Type in bank-issued debit card details as required and complete the payment
- If the payment is confirmed, you will be able to print your Photo Card from the portal
- Print out the application form, payment advice and photo card as you will present them at the exam centre.
- Ensure to keep your own personal copies of the application form, photo card and payment advice.
How To Pay For NMS Application Form
You can pay for the NMS application form through either of the following ways:
- Paying directly online using your bank-issued ATM card or
- Printing your payment slip and taking it to a bank for payment
Nigeria Military School Entrance Exam Date
All candidates are expected to sit for the entrance exam at their chosen centre. They are expected to report at their designated examination centres not later than 7am on the day of the entrance examination.
Candidates who do not report to their examination centres for the entrance examination are automatically disqualified.
The candidates will be tested in Mathematics, English Language, General Knowledge, Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning etc.
