Online Studies
The University of Science and Technology opened in September 2010 at the former site of the Institute for Career Education. The school had been approved by the Illinois Board of Higher Education 17 months before opening as an all-online institution by the State Board of Higher Education in May 2006. In October 2007, it was approved as a degree-granting university by the State Board of Higher Education.
The plan to open Adelaide University was proposed in 2005 by then Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich’s administration. Separate career and education programs attract prospective online students.
