Federal Government of Nigeria Scholarship
The Federal Government of Nigeria always awards scholarships to exceptional students who are residents of the country. In order to be eligible, candidates are required to be either in their second year as an undergraduate or be graduates of any federal or state universities in the country.
Applicants must also be full time students of any state or federal university in the country. Apart from this, the most important part of the criterion is the CGPA section.
Graduate applicants must have a Second class upper degree or above while undergraduate applicants are required to have a minimum of 4.0 CGP out of 5.0 grading system or its equivalent in another grading system.
A computer based test will be conducted for applicants and no fee is required. Applicants with HND or NCE degrees are required to have a minimum of 3.5 CGPA or above on a 4.0 scale. After applicants are awarded the scholarship, change of course of study is not allowed.

There are ten Master’s Degree programs and seven doctorate programs. Usually, the number of applicants accepted for Master’s is 320 while 95 doctorate applicants are accepted. The scholarship program for Master’s lasts two years while doctorate degree scholarships last four years.
Successful applicants will also receive stipends that may be as much as 550 EUR for a start. A tuition waiver and a medical insurance are also given to the successful applicants. The stipend increases after six months of consistency and performance.

This scholarship is not available for undergraduate programs, as only MSc programs are being sponsored.
