School Reopening: September 21st Resumption Date For All Schools – Official Disclaimer

School Reopening: Federal Government Did Not Announce September 21st As Resumption Date For All Schools – Official Disclaimer

There have been reports that the Federal Government has announced 21st of September as resumption date for schools in Nigeria. This is false, malicious and intended to deceive members of the public, especially unsuspecting students who are eager to hear news of resumption. This news should be disregarded as the Federal Govt only gave a nod for schools to plan on resumption but did not give a specific date. This news from our investigation was instigated by a website known or which has a reputation for posting fake news. It was same platform that did at one point report that schools will reopen on the 7th of September 2020.

The minister of Education did not Announce 21st September as Resumption Date for All Schools

Today, we came across some rumors going online that the federal government (FG), through the Minister of Education, have announced 21st September 2020 as the Resumption Date for Universities, Polytechnics, Secondary Schools and Primary Schools.

Please be informed that the FG is yet to announce an exact date for resumption of academic activities for any category of classes (except for candidates writing WAEC/NABTEB/BECE).

However, some state government like Lagos, Delta, Osun, Ogun, etc have announced the resumption date for their schools.

Its worth adding that FG has given a go ahead order to all states ready to reopen their schools. But they (FG) through the Minister of Education didn’t announce a date for reopening of school Resumption.

We are really optimistic that the Minister of Education will announce a resumption date very soon and hopefully ASUU and COEASU calls of their strike Immediately!

Once a date for resumption is fixed, as always will bring you the breaking news.
