“I made a decision this time last year August 2021, that I was going to go abroad for my studies, one year later and I’m here! I’m happy to announce that I have gotten a fully funded PhD offer in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cornell University. I got a fully-funded scholarship which covers tuition, health insurance and living expenses stipends for my time here and I am super grateful to God for the opportunity.
Having worked in the oil and gas industry for about 2 years at Waltersmith Petroman Oil Ltd Nigeria, I decided to take a step further in my field (Electrical/Electronic Engineering) by going for my PhD. I have always had a passion for quality education and research! So I’m glad I will be working on a research area whose aim is to make electronics more versatile in every sense.
I want to thank my family and friends for their emotional support during my application process. It’s been one hell of a journey. Special thanks to my friend Patrick who casually mentioned that I start applying to schools in the US and I could get scholarships and all. I’m glad I listened to him and I put in the work to get to exactly where I am now.
Also, special thanks to my cousin Nobus Oghenekaro who was nothing short of amazing during my application process, from the very first day I told him I wanted to start getting serious with my applications, can’t forget our several zoom calls to him introducing me to some of his friends that could help me out in reviewing my statement of purpose to him going as far as paying for some of my application fees. I’m super grateful and glad to have you in my corner! You are a brother indeed and I can’t be more grateful for that!
Special thanks to me as well, for putting in the work and going all out to ensure my application turned out great and I was accepted in such a great school like Cornell University. It’s been serious work, but I’m glad I followed through and it all worked out! I can’t wait for lies ahead.
I also want to thank EducationUSA for helping me out in my visa application process. It was truly seemless with your help. Thank you!” – ESIRI WROTE ON LINKEDIN
