Requirements for Application Into TWAS-DBT Postgraduate Fellowship Programme for Developing Countries
The Fellowship which is an initiative created to support foreign scholars from a wide range of developing countries who aspires to pursue research and studies in the area of biotechnology expects every applicant wishing to be selected for these fellowships must meet the following criteria:
- Be a maximum age of 35 years ( on the 31st of December of the fellowship application year)
- Be nationals of any of the developing country (other than India).
- Must not have in possession any visa for temporary residency or for permanent residency in India and other developed country. DBT works to support sustainable prosperity, they achieve this through research, awareness and education as well as policy and diplomacy.
- They must Hold a Master’s degree or an equivalent degree certificate in science or engineering.
- For SANDWICH Fellowship category, you are expected to be registered PhD students in your home country and submit the “Registration and No Objection Certificate” which you obtained from your HOME university ( a sample of what is required is included in the application form)
- For persons applying to the FULL-TIME Fellowships category; you are expected to be willing to register at any university or institution of higher education in India.The Fellowship is an initiative created to support foreign scholars from a wide range of developing countries who aspires to pursue research and studies in the area of biotechnology
- You must Be accepted at a recognized biotechnology institution in India. Bear in mind that the Requests for acceptance letters must be directed to the chosen host institution(s) and universities, and NOT to the program organizers, DBT.
- Make Provisions for a research proposal of yours, ensure that you go by the outline based on the format of the sample that is set by the fellowship organizers.
- Provide evidence or proof of proficiency in English, that is if the medium of education for your home country was not English;
