They vary in eligibility, award amount, and qualification requirements, but it’s worth looking into scholarship opportunities if your family is strapped for cash.

Whatever your reasons for considering a scholarship at UC San Diego, please know that we’re here to help. Scholarship decisions are often the most difficult part of the application process, and these resources will hopefully ease some of your anxiety before receiving an acceptance or rejection letter from UC San Diego.

Scholarship Description

The scholarship covers the full costs of tuition and fees for a student admitted to the School of Pharmacy, provided that:

The student is eligible for an F1 visa by either his/her parents or spouse being U.S. citizens or permanent residents; and the student has not been convicted of a drug-related felony since June 15, 2007.

The total number of awards available is 25 each year. Students must be admitted by June 30 to be considered for this scholarship at the start of the fall semester in which they will be enrolled at UCSD if they were not admitted earlier.

The scholarship reward is about $31,000 per year, awarded over four years of study in the School of Pharmacy.

The scholarship is renewable contingent on satisfactory academic standing and full-time enrollment.

Students must be committed to practicing in a U.S. pharmacy upon graduation.

The Scholarship Fund was established in 1990 by the UC Regents and the Board of Trustees of the California State University, acting on behalf of the citizens of California and charged with maintaining the quality of graduates in Pharmacy.

The Pharmacy Scholars Program is now administered jointly by UCSD and Cal State East Bay (CSUEB). The application is available on both Universities’ websites. Students are encouraged to submit applications early for priority consideration for admission and scholarship awards, as well due to the processing time required for reviewing applications from first-time applicants to both universities.
