1) Universida de Costa Rica

It is the oldest university in Costa Rica and largest in terms of students’ population (over 39,600 students). The university is Costa Rica’s highest ranking institution. Its main campus is located in San Pedro close to Capital San Jose.

2) Universida Nacional Costa Rica

3) Instituto Tecnologico de Costa Rica

It is a non-profit public higher education founded in 1971. It is located in the urban setting of the large town of Cartago. It is an autonomous national institution that is dedicated to teaching, research and the extension of technology and related sciences for the development of Costa Rica.

The major aim of this institution is to train professionals in the technological field so they can participate critically and creatively in national productive activities. The school achieves this through its various undergraduate and graduate programs.

4) Universidad EARTH

It is a non-profit private higher education institution founded in 1990 and located in the rural Aracimo, Limon. There are also branches in Liberia band , Guanacaste.

7) Universidad Latinoamericana de Ciencia y Tecnología

The university was founded in 1987. Universidad Latinoamericana de Ciencia y Tecnología (Latin American University of Science and Technology) is a profit-making private higher education institution.

It is located in the urban region of the big city of San José, San Jose. The school offers undergraduate, and graduate degrees in the faculties of Engineering, Information and Communication Technologies, Cinema and Animation, Art and Design, Business Studies, Health Sciences, and Social Sciences.
