University of Kerala
Formerly called University of Travancore, is a state public university established in 1937. It is the very first university to be established in Kerala. The university has more than 150 affiliated colleges and has 16 faculties and 43 departments of teaching and research.

This university was established by Act 27 of 2005 of the Kerala State Legislature.
The primary aim of the University is:

(b) to develop a sense of responsibility in the student/scholar to serve the society by developing skills with regard to advocacy, legal services, legislation, law reforms etc.

Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit
It is a Sanskrit university in India that was founded in 1993 in Kerala. It provides education in Sanskrit, other Indian and Foreign languages,social science and fine arts. It was accredited A+ by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The university has eight regional campuses across Kerala namely Kalady, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Panmana, Thuravoor, Ettumanoor, Tirur, Koyilandy and Payannur.
Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology
It is a government-assisted institute and deemed university for the study and research of space science, located at Valiamala,. It is the first university in Asia to be primarily dedicated to the study and research of the outerspace was inaugurated on 14 September 2007

Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum
It was originally established by the Government of Kerala as an advanced Centre for medical specialties.
