#1   University of Ibadan

University of Ibadan is a public research university established in 1948. The University is located in Ibadan, South-west, Nigeria. It is the first university in Nigeria. The university has a major drive which is, to be a world class institution for academic excellence that is geared towards meeting societal needs.

Currently the academic programs in the university are run in 16 faculties namely: Science, Arts, Clinical Sciences, Basic Medical Sciences, Agriculture, Social Sciences, Education, Veterinary Science, Public Health, Dentistry, Law, Technology, Pharmacy, Economics, Renewable Natural Resources and Environmental Design and Management.

The school also runs a college of medicine which comprises four faculties; Basic Medical Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Public Health and Dentistry. The school also run postgraduate programs which are well recognized both nationally and internationally.

Both the students, staffs and graduates of this premier university are continually making global impact through their new inventions, creativity, discoveries in different fields such as medicine, agriculture, technology, etc.

#2   Covenant University

Covenant University was established as a private Christian University in 2002. It is located at Ota, South West, Nigeria. In the recent times, the university has stood as one of the best university in Nigeria. Also webometrics ranking in 2021 named covenant university as the best private university in Nigeria.

Covenant University has a vision of raising a new generation of leaders who will help restore the dignity of the black race.

Currently, there are four colleges in the university: the College of Science and Technology, College of Engineering, College of Leadership and Development Studies, College of Business and Social Sciences.

#3   Obafemi Awolowo University

It is a public research university that was established in 1961 as University of Ife. It is located in Ile-Ife, Osun State. In 1987, the name was changed to the current one in honor of late Chief Obafemi Awolowo, a prominent lawyer, politician and nationalist. It is one of the best university in Nigeria. Ever since its establishment, the university has consistently displayed excellence in the areas of academics, research, community service and administration.

The university runs undergraduate and post-graduate programs in different academic fields including humanities, sciences, arts, natural sciences, social sciences, medical sciences, engineering and technology.  There are 13 faculties and two colleges in the university- post graduate college and college of health sciences.

#4   University of Nigeria, Nsukka

UNN as it is fondly called is a Federal University established in 1955 in Nsukka, Enugu State. It was established by Nnamdi Azikwe (the very First president of Nigeria). When it comes to research and development, UNN is at the forefront with series of innovations that are of global relevance.

It runs its academic programs via 15 faculties and 102 academics both at graduate and post-graduate level. The university offers academic programs in the following fields; agriculture, biological sciences, education, arts, engineering, physical sciences, veterinary medicine, pharmaceutical sciences and social sciences.

There is a teaching hospital at the institution that houses the faculty of dentistry, health sciences and technology.

#5   University of Lagos

UNILAG, as it is fondly called is a public research university established in 1962. The university is one of the best university in Nigeria and also very selective in terms of admission of students.

The university offers both undergraduate and postgraduate programs across 12 faculties and 5 institutes. The faculties include Arts, Management Sciences, Clinical Sciences, Dental Sciences, Law, Pharmacy, Social Sciences, Education, Basic Medical Sciences, Engineering and Environmental Sciences.

#6   The University of Port Harcourt

The university which ranks as one of the best universities in Nigeria was created in 1975. It is located in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. The institution offers its students an outstanding experience in terms of excellent teaching, quality research and community service.

#7   Federal University of Technology, Akure

The university with the motto; Technology for self- reliance was established in 1981. The university is well-known for producing graduates that are not just knowledgeable theoretically but also sound in the practical aspect. The university is located in Akure, Ondo State, Southwest Nigeria.

The university offers academic program through a college of medicine and nine schools. It is a public research university established in 1962. The institution is located in Zaria, Kaduna State and operates through two campuses: Samaru and Kongo. Academic programs in the institution are run under 3 colleges. They include College of Agricultural sciences, College of Business and Social Sciences, Science and Engineering

#10   Federal University of Technology, Minna
