The University of Miami offers 15 different undergraduate majors and 68 minors, with 18 graduate programs in 11 schools and colleges for a total of 236-degree programs. Over half of our students are from Florida or Nevada; international students comprise 15% of our student body. Every area of study is offered at a high-quality, highly-ranked public research university.

The University of Miami is a public, need-blind institution and full tuition scholarships are available to qualify undergraduate students from Florida. Nationwide 100% of undergraduate applicants to UM received offers with the average acceptance rate at 25%. The average GPA for incoming freshmen was 3.85. The acceptance rate for transfer students was 48%.

At the University of Miami, we believe that scholarship is only part of a complete financial aid package. That is why every student who has completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the end of January will automatically be considered for a University of Miami Scholarship. Scholarship awards are renewed annually and are renewable for up to four years, assuming satisfactory academic progress continues. This scholarship is only open to students who will be transferring from a community college in Ohio and into an undergraduate degree program at Miami University of Ohio. The award amount is $1,500 per year, renewable for up to four years provided that satisfactory academic progress continues.

Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship

If you’re an undergraduate looking to study abroad, Miami University is hosting a Thomas R. Pickering Foreign Affairs Fellowship in Miami’s Center for International Affairs. Students will be immersed in the international programming at Miami, which offers more than 100 English-taught courses on topics like global justice and international development with a focus on human rights and poverty alleviation.

This fellowship provides $2,500 to fully cover tuition and fees for one semester as well as housing costs. It also includes payment of the program fee for a full-time internship or employment opportunity in the U.S or abroad following graduation day, including benefits from the institution where their work is done during this period.
