Students are provided with accommodation and tuition is given by academics who have been trained in teaching overseas.

The School of Psychology is one of the largest in the UK, enrolling over 3,000 undergraduates and 500 postgraduate students. Tuition fee at the University of Surrey for International Students

A recent meteoric rise in international students at universities across British Columbia has led to a major increase in tuition fees. International students pay an average of CAD 64,000 per year to attend the University of Surrey.

This is a staggering jump from CAD 20,000 just six years ago! International student tuition fees are already higher than those for domestic students and international student scholarships have become more difficult to acquire. The increase may also be linked to the declining number of domestic students at UBC and BCIT due to financial reasons.

About the Scholarships

The University of Surrey has partnered with Unesco to offer these scholarships, which are open to anyone interested. The aim is twofold; firstly they aim to make an effort towards recruiting international students and secondly they hope that these scholarships will represent the kind of values that Surrey stands for – skills, integrity, innovation, and diversity.

International Students at the University of Surrey

These statistics are based on data published by Unesco about international students around the world. In 2009/10, 12 million international students were studying at universities around the world, this figure had risen from 8 million ten years earlier and is expected to rise again within a few years.

The University of Surrey is proud of its reputation for academic excellence and these scholarships are designed to ensure that the best students do come to study there, meaning that the university will maintain its standards and continue to be one of the best universities in Europe.

Students Funding

Applicants must see this scholarship as an opportunity rather than a barrier to entering the institution; they should not let their fears around funding put them off. Other scholarships, including the university’s scholarships, will be available to students and there are external sources of funding too.

Students do not have to accept these funds and many do not; scholarships at Surrey are designed as an added incentive for potential students who may not otherwise have considered the university.

University of Surrey Scholarships Information

The scholarships are open to all applicants, but there is a 50% chance that you will get one so those applying want to make sure they maximize their chances. This scholarship is not dependent on finding sponsorship or sponsorships; it is entirely dependent on the application form being completed correctly, which means that all information requested will be relevant and necessary.

Most scholarships require a student to have excellent academic achievements. The university has found that these are the most relevant facts for future success as measured by postgraduate employment, research, and publications.
