Eligibility Criteria for Westpac Future Leaders Scholarship

Applicants must:

• be an Australian citizen if not, they must possess permanent resident (bear in mind that New Zealand citizens are not fit to apply);
• have rounded-up their first undergraduate degree within the last five (5) years, if not,they should make sure to complete their course by December 2022;
• have achieved or in the process and track to achieve an average result which should be H1 or H2A equivalent ( if not then an approx 75 WAM may be needed)
• have selected to undertake a full-time Masters_ the program should either be by coursework or research or even a PhD which must take place at one of the program’s participating university partners;
• have a field/area of study, for PhD and Masters by research applicants with an ERA 4 digit
• FOR the “well above world standard” rating as well as persons applying for the Masters by coursework , your area of study is expected to be in an area which has a world-class standing;
• Current postgraduate level students are not fit to apply
• Your proposed program of study Is expected to contribute to the future of Australia in any of the Foundation’s funding areas which are prior: the Sustainable Futures, Australia in Asia, the sector of Thriving Tech Or even An Inclusive Country;
• include in their proposed program of study other international opportunities which are to develop their leadership skills as well as improve their global networks; eg is study tours for the purpose of research, their times of attending a short course, the conferences they attended, a period of internship or their volunteer roles;
• have a worthy, excellent and viable post-study plan that sets target on benefitting Australia;
• supply two (2) letters of reference_ the reference should contain an academic reference and a personal reference;
• be able to be available for the National Selection Panel to take place in Sydney on the 6th to 7th of December 2022;
• be able to attend the Future Leaders Scholars Leadership Development Program to take place in Sydney from the 12th – 17th of February 2023 and another program date to be determined in August; scholars are to also attend the 2023 Westpac Scholars Summit to hold on the 3rd and 4th of April 2023.
