Eligibility Requirement
To be eligible for a scholarship to Yonsei University, international students must meet the following criteria:
- Be citizens of a developed country as defined by the country classification of the world bank. China, Japan, and Korea are not considered developed countries for this purpose.
- Have a score of at least 550 on Toefl (paper-based test) or 80 on IELTS (internet-based test)
- Not have been admitted to any other school in Korea except those listed under exceptions
- Not have resided in Korea before matriculation
Documents Needed to Apply for Yonsei University Scholarship
- The applicant must be a non-Korean applicant from outside of Korea and China.
- Applicant must have been accepted to a Korean university on a full-time, undergraduate program for the academic semester.
- Applicant must have won 1st place according to the grading system in your high school or country where you graduated from. If you graduated from a Middle School (2 years) then your middle school ranking exam result is required. If you graduated from a non-graded middle school then an official document proving your highest grade will suffice (i.e., a letter with/from your principal).
- Applicant must be applying for a full-time undergraduate degree.
- A valid passport is required at the time of application.
- A letter of recommendation from the applicant’s high school or university is required at the time of application.
- Proof of financial ability is required at the time of application.
- An interview may be conducted as part of the final procedure for this scholarship, which may take place at Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea. (Date, Time & Place will be notified to you by e-mail about 1 month later).
