York University Scholarship

One of Toronto’s best University, York University was founded in the year 1959, ranking as the third largest University in all of Canada. It offers more than 160 degree options to local and International students who wish to study abroad. The University is a public research institute with approximately 52,000 students, over 6,000 staff. The University has three campuses located in Keele – main campus, Marham Centre – partially funded by the government and the Glendon Campus – housing the bilingual Glendon College and Leslie Frost Library.

With a population of 49,000 students, one-quarter of these are International students from all over the World. This scholarship offers $35,000 per year to international students who wish to earn a degree in York University.

President’s International scholarship of Excellence

As one of the most prestigious scholarship of excellence, this scholarship is awarded to International students who are committed to volunteer work, extracurricular activities and leadership skills. There are about 150 scholarship awards available to both local and International students, supporting aspirants who demonstrate interest in a degree. This scholarship is provided by the University of Toronto, launching a lifelong path of intellectual discovery and success, including a fee of $10,000 in any department.

York University Automatic Entrance Scholarship

Awarding a Scholarship of $4,000 per year to International students depending on their grades and eligibility. It’s a yearly renewable scholarship dependent on the student’s course load and GPA. Secondary school students are its most recognized beneficiaries as they are allowed to apply directly having an outstanding school diploma. In order to maintain its renewal, students must maintain a minimum of 8.00 sessional grade point average. Its application process is minimal as students will be considered based on their final admission.

Glendon International Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to International students who are admitted into Glendon with top academic standing and demonstrate great leadership potential or students who need financial assistance. Students will be selected based on letters from the student’s school or community. Candidates are advised to submit a nomination letter, completing a 300 word statement demonstrating their leadership attributes. This scholarship is offered every Fall or Winter.

Graduate scholarships

York offers admissions to students who are self funded or sponsored by government or cooperatives. These packages admit studenst into Full-time Masters and PhD programs in York with financial support for the first five terms (20 months) of the program. Unlike other programs, course with specialization in AI is not funded but financial support is available in form of internships and scholarships. PhD programs are considered for financial support for their first twelve terms (48 months) with a fee of about $27,000 per year. Outstanding applications will be considered for entrance scholarships of $3,000 each. There are also teaching assistantships offered on a full-time basis in PhD and M.Sc programs. A full TA requires 270n hours of work over year and a value of about $16,000.

York University Minimum Funding Commitment

This scholarship covers full tuition plus other expenses that offers excellent graduate students a minimum funding commitment. If given this scholarship at the time of enrollment, the student will receive a full tuition which varies between local and International students. Armand and Denise LaBarge Graduate Scholarship in Multiculturalism

The Armand and Denise Labarge Graduate Scholarship in multiculturalism is awarded to students enrolled in the University, reflecting outstanding contributions in fighting racism and promoting a peaceful co-existence of citizens in a multicultural environment. This scholarship supports graduate students who have excellent work related to Human rights, Cultural diversity, multiculturalism and other humanitarian areas. This award is up to $8,000 and non-renewable which also includes student support.

Joyce and Fred Zemans Scholarship

This Scholarship is offered ton one graduate student from each of The Graduate Program in art History (preference given to students in Canadian Art and or Cultural studies), The Schulich School of Business MBA program (preference given to students specializing in Arts and Media administration), The Osgoode Hall law School’s Graduate Program in Law (preference given to students whose research focuses on Alternative Dispute Resolution or Access to justice). To be eligible, you must be registered for a Masters’ or doctoral York graduate student. General requirements include a letter of nomination, curriculum vitae and transcript of records.
