Young African Lady Graduates As A Microbiologist With First-class, Wins Scholarship To Study In Both US And UK

A brilliant Nigerian Lady named Mercy Ojetunde has achieved an exceptional feat after winning a United Kingdom’s Commonwealth Scholarship for her Master’s degree and immediately won another scholarship in the United States for her PhD degree.

Mercy Ojetunde graduated with a first-class (4.75 out 5.00) Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Osun State University, South-West, Nigeria. After her undergraduate program, she applied for the UK Commonwealth Shared Scholarship.

The United Kingdom Commonwealth Shared Scholarship is a yearly award funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) to allow international students to enrol for their Master’s degree in any university in the United.

“I started my applications, and fortunately, I got the Commonwealth Shared Scholarships in 2021 to study MSc. Biotechnology at the University of the West of Scotland, UK,” she wrote on LinkedIn.“It was a great opportunity to understand the teaching/learning style abroad,” she added.
